Who Solves wordle today the Fastest
First, you might have overheard someone muttering to their phone on the train:
“Spoke. Stuck. Stake. Sleke – smeke – is sneke a word?”
Soon, Wordle today found its way onto your computer—or more likely, your Twitter feed. In just two months, Wordle was mentioned 1.7 million times on Twitter, and that’s not even counting all the captionless result grids, which quickly became both mysterious and, let’s be honest, a little tiresome. Green, yellow, and completely exclusive—you were left out of the club. What was this puzzle everyone was obsessed with?
Then came the think-pieces. So you read one. But you wanted more context. Just one play of Wordle today wasn’t enough. Playing once made you realize that with a little strategy, the second round could go even better. Your skills were growing fast. And the next day? You were ready to try Wordle today again. Maybe, just maybe, you could become one of the Wordle greats.
Great: a solid starting word. But can you be the best at Wordle today?
At WordTips, we love Wordle so much that we created a Wordle today word finder to help players practice. But with a whole day to wait for the next puzzle, we decided to take it further—analyzing Twitter data to see which countries, states, and cities have the best Wordle today averages in the world.
Key Findings
Canberra, Australia is the global city with the best Wordle today average: 3.58 guesses.
Sweden is the world’s best country at Wordle today, with an average of 3.72 guesses.
The US ranks #18 globally for Wordle today, with a national average of 3.92 guesses.
North Dakota is the US state with the best Wordle today average: 3.65 guesses.
Saint Paul, Minnesota tops US cities for Wordle today, averaging 3.51 guesses.
Sweden: The Wordle Today Champions
Swedes are the undisputed Wordle today experts. Sweden leads Europe, followed by Poland and Switzerland, with an average of 3.72 guesses per word. Australia, which embraced Wordle right after New Zealand, ranks fourth with 3.80 guesses on average.
Australian Cities Shine
Wordle isn’t just about letters; it’s about flow, challenge, and that satisfying “aha!” moment. Canberra nails it globally, averaging 3.58 guesses, and three other Australian cities also make the top ten.
US Wordle Today Stats
The US as a whole ranks 18th worldwide with a national average of 3.92 guesses. North Dakota leads the country, outperforming even many nations, with 3.65 guesses. Among US cities, Saint Paul, Minnesota, is the Wordle capital, averaging 3.51 guesses, meaning many locals regularly solve the daily puzzle in three tries or fewer.
Meanwhile, big cities like New York lag behind, averaging 3.81 guesses, ranking #26 out of 116 US cities.
Saint Paul, Minnesota, US Capital City
Wordle has captured the attention of around three million players worldwide, but only one person has scored a big payday: creator Josh Wardle, who sold the game for over $1 million to The New York Times. “If you’ve followed Wordle’s story,” says Wardle, “you’ll know that New York Times Games played a big role in its development, so this next step felt natural.”
Meanwhile, Saint Paul, Minnesota, is leading the pack. With an average Wordle score of 3.51, it earns the title of the US Capital of Wordle. This means many St. Paul players regularly solve the daily Wordle puzzle in three guesses or fewer.
You can’t blame The New York Times for investing heavily in a game that draws millions of daily players, or for creating engaging Connections puzzles. But at the current pace, Wordle will run out of fresh answers by 2028 if repetition isn’t introduced. The real question is—can you break the habit before then?
Methodology
We analyzed 195,248 tweets with #Wordle using the Twitter API. After filtering, 142,669 tweets provided usable game scores. Only numeric scores were considered, excluding rare exceptions like “X/6.”
We grouped the data by country, state, and city, keeping only locations with sufficient tweet volume:
Countries: minimum 50 tweets
Cities (global and US): minimum 25 tweets
From this data, the worldwide average number of guesses for Wordle today is 3.919, based solely on tweeted results.
Wordle today may be a simple daily puzzle, but its global impact is huge. Whether you’re practicing with a Wordle solver or just enjoying the challenge, it’s clear that some places—and players—truly excel. So, where do you rank for Wordle today?
